The Natural Disaster I have chosen to address, is an earth quake in Christchurch. While its population density is not as high as some asian countries, efficiant use of space cuts the cost and allows more people access to the temporary housing. Making use of the retracting balcony would be a efficient way of creating more space, Also by slightly raising the living area of the ground, the container would be more suitable in flooded areas.
